The VF-TE Vintage Set recreates the iconic tone of 1950s Tele pickups with accuracy. It delivers the unmistakable Tele twang and bite in the bridge position and a warm, open tone in the neck.
Description
We custom-wind this pickup set for vintage-style sound. The bridge pickup uses alnico 5 rod magnets and staggered poles. Its lower output wind produces a bright, well-defined treble response, ideal for lead playing. The neck pickup creates a smooth, open tone with warm mids and airy highs.
We hand-assemble each bobbin using period-correct forbon and alnico 5 magnets. After lacquering the bobbin, we wind the coils and install a deep-drawn, chrome-plated nickel-silver cover. We also use cloth pushback wires and wax pot the pickup, just like the originals.
